Project requirements and objectives
rt1.tv is a leading media production company specializing in satellite-based live broadcasts as well as film and video productions. The company had clear requirements: future-proofing for additional locations, integration of AI, central data management, faster workstations, and user-friendly storage solutions. Qvest was commissioned to implement these specifications and modernize the existing infrastructure.
Modernization of production environment
Qvest equipped six Avid editing suites at rt1.tv with AI-powered workflow modules. This integration into the existing infrastructure significantly enhances the efficiency of content creation and editing. The successful implementation was based on a comprehensive requirements analysis, followed by solution proposals for a new system infrastructure.
Optimization of storage network infrastructure
A key component of the project was the implementation of the NEXIS storage system. Qvest migrated existing data to the new central NEXIS storage and optimized the entire storage network infrastructure. This enables faster and more convenient storage and data access across multiple clients.
Introduction of a central ingest system
With Woody (IN2IT), Qvest integrated a central ingest system for image and audio material into a cloud- or server-based system. Providing content in predefined codecs and resolutions facilitates content search, enhancing the efficiency of editorial staff. This allows raw material to be reviewed and sequences to be created without blocking the Media Composer.
Improved remote working capabilities
A VPN access enables editors to remotely access the new functions, promoting location-independent collaborative work and increasing the flexibility and efficiency of the entire production environment. Through the connected locations in Augsburg and Berlin, employees can work together on a unified platform.

The increased efficiency and flexibility of the Avid infrastructure elevates the entire production environment to a new level, creating significant added value for rt1.tv's clients. The upgrades in post-production, the storage system, and the creation of new media workflows are essential for scaling processes more easily in the future.
