Cologne/Stuttgart, June 19, 2024: A total of five matches will be played in the MHPArena in Stuttgart as part of this year's European Football Championship. In addition, four separate public viewing zones will be set up in the heart of the city for the international audience from all over Europe. In cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg police, Qvest is responsible for and coordinates the technical security concept for the police´s main control center in Stuttgart in order to ensure the safety of fans in the area surrounding the stadium and throughout the city.

The Qvest team was responsible for implementing the entire technical infrastructure, including all incoming video signals in the security control center, to coordinate all operations of the Baden-Württemberg police during the European Football Championship. For this purpose, several workstations were converted and expanded in advance to meet the specific requirements during the football tournament.

The 3x3 meter screen wall in the security control center can process both 128 input and output sources. The incoming video signals include bodycams, cameras inside and outside the stadium, surveillance cameras in the city center as well as image signals from police helicopters and drones that monitor the entire city area and are coordinated in the security control center.

Two 55-inch smart displays with touch panels can also be used to visualize all live overview plans of operational locations, various PC workstations with intranet and all incoming signals, as well as forwarding them to other control centres in Baden-Württemberg. A total of 17 police control centers throughout Baden-Württemberg are connected to the security control center.

Qvest also provides on-site operational support for a total of five days in order to familiarize the relevant personnel with the hardware and software of the new media technology, to train them and to prepare them for possible problem scenarios.

To ensure the greatest possible security, Qvest also installed a backup system as a fail-safe measure for all visualization systems. In addition, remote helpdesk support has been set up for the entire duration of the European Championships.
